What does ‘talah.’ mean?

TALAH. derived from the Filipino term, tala, which means bright star. With the tagline, ‘brightening your home’, TALAH., aims to bring to you safe products that we have hand made and hand poured with curated scents to stimulate your senses.


What is soy wax?

Soy wax are from soy beans and they are biodegradable, renewable and environmentally friendly. We use NatureWax C3 which is 100% soy and does not have any other wax blends. 

NatureWax is a company based in North America which uses natural vegetable-based waxes. In Australia, NatureWax C3 is chosen by many candle makers because it gives the best fragrance throw and is reliable in giving a consistent creamy white finish to candles. 


What is the difference between your candles and the ones in the market already?

We can assure you that our products are eco-friendly from the suppliers, raw materials, candle-making procedure to our labels and packaging. 

  • Our candle wax is 100% soy which is safe, easy-to-clean, natural, vegan and biodegradable.
  • Our labels and packaging are made of sustainable materials.
  • Our products are handmade and hand-poured. Our products are artisan goods that are not mass produced. We use our crafty hands and tools rather than machine, helping reduce pollution in our environment.
  • We support zero-waste or minimum-waste conscious individuals. You have the freedom of re-using our jars at your homes, and our packaging are recyclable and compostable.


What assurance do I have that your products are safe?

  • We have attended workshops with inclusion of product safety especially in ensuring we sell safe products to consumers.
  • We only purchase our raw products from legit Candle Suppliers within Australia. You are ensured that our jars have been heat-tested and made specifically for candles.
  • Every candle you purchase from us has a warning label included, which provides you with information for candle care.
  • You can check the Safety Data Sheet in each of our product components in our website. (Disclaimer: our online shop is currently under construction, but it will include the MSDS of every content of the product)


Do you use essential oils for your fragrance?

We use fragrance oils for our scents which have been made by Luxaroma – an artisan fragrance oil maker from Sydney, Australia. Their fragrance oils have been rigorously tested on different waxes and is perfectly compatible with soy wax. 

Essential oils are a natural product with limited availability. Unfortunately, essential oils have different compositions, some will evaporate during a candle burn, and some may ignite or be toxic when heated.

On top of it all, essential oils are expensive which will directly increase the price of the final product. 

We at TALAH. make sure our fragrance oil are safe, hence, we have included their Safety Data Sheet in each of our product page.


What other products do you offer?

For now, we offer scented soy wax candles in Medium & Large. We are also looking into expanding into selling tealights and soy wax melts in the near future. In addition, we’ll have Room Sprays and Reed Diffusers as well.


What do you base your pricing from?

We base our pricing on multiple factors:

  • The materials we use in making our products are from legitimate Australian businesses. 
  • Our production process, through careful research and continuous training, we are able to put together a high quality product.
  • The pricing value also comes from our quality assurance, where we ensure each product coming out of TALAH. is consistent.
  • We have also considered feedback from our valued customers thus our pricing is market competitive and has good value for money.
  • All our pricing includes GST.
  • Our prices does not include shipping cost – as shipping cost would vary depending on the delivery method (i.e. face-to-face or parcel delivery)


How do I know your business is legit?

  • Our business is registered as TALAH. & CO under the Australian Securities & Investments Commission in 4 July 2020.
  • We have our ABN registered as a partnership business in 7 October 2019.
  • We have an official and verified business bank account with NAB.
  • We provide our customers with invoice and receipts with every purchase.


Are you open for partnerships like stockists?

Do you make personalised candles for events?

Yes, we will provide you with a brochure of our product catalogue. Email us @ talah.enquiry.com on how we can be of service to you.


Can I return an item? What is your refunds & return policy?

Generally speaking, if the product has been used, the item cannot be returned.

As per Consumer Affairs Victoria, consumers do not have the right to return a product for the following reasons:

  • Change of mind/ No longer want the product
  • Ordered the wrong product
  • Found the product cheaper elsewhere
  • Found a better product elsewhere
  • Damaged the product by misusing it
  • Used the product for a long time

Do you store personal information of your customers?

We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a product to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your full knowledge and consent.

What payment methods do you offer?

We offer the following payment methods:

  • Direct money deposit to our Bank Account
  • Online Bank to Bank Transfer
  • Credit Card

What delivery methods do you offer?

  • Face to face meet-ups at selected locations
  • Parcel delivery via AusPost or Sendle

How quickly do you fulfil orders?

Give us 2-3 business days to process your orders. 


When will I receive my item?

  • Upon processing your order, we will send out a parcel delivery tracking number so you can monitor when your order will arrive.
  • Face-to-face delivery will depend on the agreed date of our availability and the customer.

Which areas do you deliver to?

  • We mainly deliver within the Metropolitan Melbourne Area.
  • We are open to delivering Australia-wide.
  • We do not offer international delivery at this stage.


Can I cancel my order?

Once your order has been packed and sent for delivery, we cannot cancel your order.
